Gareth Bale was revealed he is perfectly happy at Tottenham, after reports emerged from Spain that the La Liga champions, Barcelona, were lining up a bid for the player Capello described as the best in the world.
The Welsh winger has transformed himself into one of the players of the season, and at only 21, has plenty of time left in his career to explore other options.
Tottenham have already declared the player is not for sale, and Bale is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2014.
Bale came off the bench to play the last 30 minutes against AC Milan as Tottenham progressed to the last 8, where he could face his potential suitors, Barcelona, who knocked out Arsenal.
“At the moment I’m happy at Tottenham,” said Bale.
“The truth is I can not discuss this matter. I’m enjoying the football here and I hope to improve.”
Bale admitted to enjoying watching Barcelona play, and denied that Spurs would be afraid of playing them.
“Barca are playing great football right now. They show each week that they are a great team.
“But we do not fear anyone. We have no pressure.
“I think we have to play our style, without nerves and show that we are good team.”
Bale was also asked if he saw himself as more a defender or midfielder and answered, “It doesn’t matter if I play in defence or midfield, now I am really enjoying playing on the left and scoring goals, which helps the team,” he added.
