Apple has began making the iPad 2, according to reports from the US. The Wall Street Journal reported that the smart phone manufacturers have started building the new iPad, which will have a front-facing camera and a faster processor.
The Journal also reported that the new version will be thinner and lighter than the first iPad, with a more powerful graphics processor.
The camera will be on the front to allow for features like video conferencing, and will also have more memory. Apple intend to release the new product through Verizon Wireless and their original partners AT&T.
Just last week an eyewitness told Reuters that they had seen a working model of the new iPad, and that the camera appeared on the top edge of its glass screen.
Apple, as usual, refused to comment.
