The Smartphone phenomenon ‘Angry Birds’, is set to hit the small screen, according to app developer Rovio.
Rovio are planning to produce an animated series based on its ridiculously entertaining Angry Birds game franchise.
The potential move to the small screen for the animation is part of Rovio’s overall marketing strategy which has enjoyed massive success over the last year.
So far Rovio have produced; Angry Bird board games, stuffed animals, and their highly successful iphone accessories.
Mikael Hed, CEO for Rovio, claims the studio had pegged Angry Birds for a show or movie early on.
With their ability to now evaluate the market on the success of the animation, they are confidently moving forward with their project.
“We have been looking at that for quite a while, and that is definitely one of my personal big focus areas right now — to work on broadcast content for ‘Angry Birds” stated Hed.
No announcement has been made yet as to who will be joining Rovio in their venture, or if Angry birds will follow onto the big screen after a successful stint on television/internet.
It is unknown in what capacity we will see this animation, i.e. will it be available for download on the net, or devices such as the iPhone.
Only time will tell, but expect to see more of these crazy angry birds very soon.
