Angelina Jolie, 35, wants to adopt another child to expand her big happy family from an orphanage in Haiti.
She already has three biological children of her own and adopted three children too. The adopted kids were from Ethiopia, Cambodia and Vietnam. She is now hoping to adopt a four year old girl called Leah from Haiti.
Leah lost her whole family in an earthquake and will visit Angelina, boyfriend Brad Pitt and their family to see if they all get along and to get to know each other.
Jolie has been in constant contact with adoption agencies, charity workers etc to check everything is alright and going well. Leah is allowed to make her first US trip and if all goes well she will be adopted by the end of the year.
A source close to one of the charities involved says that: “Angelina’s lawyers are in the process of getting an authorisation so Leah can spend some time with her in America. That’s standard procedure, basically they need to make sure Leah will adapt well.
“A lot of observers from groups such as the Red Cross are ensuring that Angelina is treated like anybody else and not fast-tracked, which would be viewed invidiously.
“There is also a concern about the Haitian authorities not being able to deal with such international pressure. But for now, Angie is almost reaching the final steps of the grueling adoption process.
“If Leah fits well within her family in the States, she will be able to adopt her.”
